One of the best things about being a homeowner is that you are free to be the painter and pick the paint colors you want for your home. You can’t just pick any paint color you want, though. You should put some restrictions on your painting ideas if you want to avoid painting problems in the future. Here are some colors that you should avoid painting:

Dark colors

Never use black, midnight blue, or any other dark colors for your interior walls because these colors absorb a lot of heat. That’s why during summer, the temperature in your house will be very high. You may suffer from heat stroke if you don’t have a ventilation system installed or if you have a small home.

Translucent colors

You should also avoid painting your interior walls in colors that are too bright or translucent. These colors can be seen through, so you won’t feel like you are in an actual cave or a castle. Even if you have expensive furniture and decorations, your home won’t look elegant and valuable if the walls are bright.

Ink colors

Never use paint colors that were made with inks. These colors will be difficult to apply and they are not durable, especially if they are used on your walls. You need to choose paint colors that won’t fade easily and will stand the test of time.

Pastel colors

Particularly for the walls of a child’s room or a bathroom, pastel paints might be seductive. They aren’t always the greatest choice, though. Choosing the wrong hue can make them appear unattractive, making them a slippery slope. A pastel applied incorrectly can damper a room and give it a heavy, saturated appearance.
